नई दिल्ली: विराट कोहली का पब, “One8 Commune,” बेंगलुरु ब्रुहद महानगर पालिका (BBMP) से अग्नि सुरक्षा उल्लंघनों के संबंध में एक नोटिस प्राप्त हुआ है।

रिपोर्ट्स के अनुसार, यह पब, जो कि रत्ना कॉम्प्लेक्स की छठी मंजिल पर एम.जी. रोड के पॉश इलाके में चिन्नास्वामी इंटरनेशनल क्रिकेट स्टेडियम के पास स्थित है, बिना अग्नि विभाग के नो-ऑब्जेक्शन सर्टिफिकेट के संचालित हो रहा है। सामाजिक कार्यकर्ताओं कूणिगल नरसिंहमूर्ति और एच.एम. वेंकटेश द्वारा की गई शिकायत के बाद 29 नवम्बर को प्रारंभिक नोटिस जारी किया गया था, लेकिन अब तक कोई प्रतिक्रिया नहीं मिली है।

BBMP के शांति नगर डिवीजन के स्वास्थ्य अधिकारी द्वारा जारी नोटिस में पब को सात दिनों का समय दिया गया है और यदि इस बार भी स्पष्टीकरण प्राप्त नहीं हुआ, तो कानूनी कार्रवाई की चेतावनी दी गई है।

शिकायतकर्ता वेंकटेश ने कहा, “बेंगलुरु में उच्च-उड़ान वाली इमारतों में कई रेस्तरां, बार और पब बिना किसी अग्नि सुरक्षा उपायों के चल रहे हैं। पहले की अग्नि दुर्घटनाओं ने शहर में काफी जान-माल का नुकसान किया है। उदाहरण के लिए, कार्लटन टावर्स में शॉर्ट सर्किट के कारण आग लग गई थी, और लोगों ने अपनी जान बचाने के लिए इमारत से कूदने की कोशिश की थी।”

“ऐसी घटनाओं से बचने के लिए, BBMP और अग्नि विभाग ने ऑडिट किए हैं। उन्होंने कई इमारतों में अग्नि सुरक्षा उपायों की कमी पाई और नियम जारी किए कि ऐसी इमारतों को लाइसेंस नहीं दिया जाएगा और उन जगहों पर संचालन की अनुमति नहीं दी जाएगी,” वेंकटेश ने कहा।

इसके बावजूद उल्लंघन जारी हैं। वेंकटेश ने यह भी कहा कि रत्ना कॉम्प्लेक्स में एम.जी. रोड पर स्थित One8 Commune भी अग्नि सुरक्षा उपायों की कमी से जूझ रहा है। हमने इस मुद्दे को उठाया और BBMP के पास शिकायत दर्ज कराई। इसके बाद उन्होंने नोटिस जारी किया है। यह देखना बाकी है कि BBMP और अग्नि विभाग इन सुरक्षा उपायों को प्रभावी रूप से लागू करने के लिए कितनी सक्रियता दिखाते हैं।”

इसके अतिरिक्त, One8 Commune को जुलाई में 1 बजे के बाद संचालन के लिए एक औपचारिक शिकायत का सामना करना पड़ा था। FIR के अनुसार, पब 1:20 बजे तक खुला था और आदेश ले रहा था, जो निर्धारित समय से अधिक था।

NEW DELHI: Virat Kohli’s pub, “One8 Commune,” has received a notification from the Bengaluru Bruhat Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) regarding potential fire safety violations.

Reports indicate that the pub, located on the sixth floor of Ratnam’s Complex on the upscale M.G. Road near the Chinnaswamy International Cricket Stadium, is operating without a fire department no-objection certificate. A complaint filed by social activists Kunigal Narasimhamurthy and H. M. Venkatesh led to the initial notice on November 29, but no response has been received yet.

The BBMP Health Officer of Shanthinagar Division issued a notice, giving the pub a seven-day deadline to respond, threatening legal action if no clarification is provided.

Venkatesh, the complainant, pointed out that many restaurants, bars, and pubs in high-rise buildings across Bengaluru are operating without adequate fire safety measures. He emphasized the deadly consequences of previous fire accidents in the city, such as the Carlton Towers fire, where people jumped from the building to escape the flames.

To address these issues, BBMP and the Fire Department have conducted audits, identifying several buildings without proper fire safety protocols. The authorities have issued regulations stating that licenses should not be granted to such buildings, and their operations should be halted. Despite these measures, violations persist. Venkatesh highlighted that One8 Commune, located in Ratna Complex on M.G. Road, is among the establishments lacking necessary fire safety features. Following the complaint, BBMP issued a notice, and it remains to be seen how the authorities will act to ensure safety and enforce regulations.
