Khalistani Terrorists Killed in Police Encounter in Pilibhit

Three suspected Khalistani terrorists, allegedly involved in a grenade attack in Gurdaspur, were killed in an encounter with police in Pilibhit early on December 23, 2024. Punjab’s Director General of Police (DGP), Gaurav Yadav, termed the operation a major breakthrough in dismantling a Pakistan-sponsored terror module.

The gunfight, which took place in the Puranpur area of Pilibhit, involved members of the Khalistan Zindabad Force (KZF) and a joint team of Uttar Pradesh and Punjab Police. The three deceased suspects have been identified as Varinder Singh alias Ravi (23), Gurvinder Singh (25), and Jashanpreet Singh alias Partap Singh (18), all residents of Kalanaur in Gurdaspur. They were accused of attacking the Bakshiwala Police Station in Kalanaur, though no one was injured in that incident.

Amitabh Yash, the Additional Director General (Law and Order) of Uttar Pradesh Police, confirmed that the trio was involved in a grenade attack on a police checkpoint in Gurdaspur. The suspects sustained serious injuries during the encounter and were rushed to the Community Health Centre (CHC) in Puranpur for treatment, but later succumbed to their wounds.

Authorities seized two AK-47 rifles, two Glock pistols, and a large quantity of ammunition from the suspects. In a post on X, DGP Yadav hailed the operation as a significant success, stating, “This is a major breakthrough against a Pakistan-sponsored Khalistan Zindabad Force (KZF) terror module. The joint operation by UP Police and Punjab Police led to the encounter with three module members who fired at the police party.” He also confirmed that the terror module was responsible for recent grenade attacks on police establishments in border areas of Punjab.

Further investigation revealed that the KZF module was controlled by Ranjeet Singh Nita, the chief of the group. Jaswinder Singh Mannu, based in Greece, operated the module, with oversight from Jagjeet Singh, who is based in the UK and serves in the British Army. Jagjeet Singh reportedly used the identity of Fateh Singh Baggi.

DGP Yadav thanked the Uttar Pradesh Police for their excellent support in the operation and commended the inter-state cooperation between the two police forces. Investigations are ongoing, and authorities expect more arrests and recoveries linked to the terror module.

The encounter follows a string of grenade attacks, including a blast at the Islamabad Police Station in Amritsar earlier in the month and a grenade attack on a police post in Nawanshahr, though no casualties were reported in either incident.

गुरदासपुर में ग्रेनेड हमले में शामिल तीन संदिग्ध खालिस्तानी आतंकवादी 23 दिसंबर 2024 को पिलिभीत में पुलिस के साथ मुठभेड़ में मारे गए। पंजाब के पुलिस महानिदेशक (DGP) गौरव यादव ने इसे पाकिस्तान-समर्थित आतंकवादी मॉड्यूल के खिलाफ एक बड़ी सफलता बताया।

पिलिभीत के पुरनपुर क्षेत्र में हुई इस मुठभेड़ में खालिस्तानी जिंदाबाद फोर्स (KZF) के सदस्य और उत्तर प्रदेश तथा पंजाब पुलिस की संयुक्त टीम शामिल थी। मारे गए आतंकवादियों की पहचान वरिंदर सिंह उर्फ रवि (23), गुरविंदर सिंह (25) और जसप्रीत सिंह उर्फ प्रताप सिंह (18) के रूप में की गई है। वे सभी पंजाब के गुरदासपुर के कालानौर थाना क्षेत्र के निवासी थे और बक्शीवाला पुलिस स्टेशन पर हाल ही में किए गए हमले में शामिल थे, हालांकि इस हमले में किसी को चोट नहीं आई थी।

उत्तर प्रदेश पुलिस के अतिरिक्त पुलिस महानिदेशक (कानून व्यवस्था) अमिताभ यादव ने पुष्टि की कि ये तीनों गुरदासपुर में पुलिस चेकपॉइंट पर हुए ग्रेनेड हमले में शामिल थे। मुठभेड़ में गंभीर रूप से घायल हुए इन आतंकवादियों को पिलिभीत के पुरनपुर स्थित सामुदायिक स्वास्थ्य केंद्र (CHC) में उपचार के लिए भेजा गया था, लेकिन बाद में उनकी मौत हो गई।

पुलिस ने उनके पास से दो AK-47 राइफलें, दो ग्लॉक पिस्तौल और भारी मात्रा में गोला-बारूद बरामद किया। DGP यादव ने ट्विटर पर कहा, “यह पाकिस्तान समर्थित खालिस्तानी जिंदाबाद फोर्स (KZF) के आतंकवादी मॉड्यूल के खिलाफ एक बड़ी सफलता है। यूपी पुलिस और पंजाब पुलिस के संयुक्त ऑपरेशन के परिणामस्वरूप तीन आतंकवादियों का सामना हुआ, जिन्होंने पुलिस पार्टी पर गोलीबारी की।” उन्होंने यह भी पुष्टि की कि यह आतंकवादी मॉड्यूल पंजाब के सीमावर्ती इलाकों में पुलिस प्रतिष्ठानों पर हाल ही में हुए ग्रेनेड हमलों में शामिल था।

जांच में सामने आया कि इस आतंकवादी मॉड्यूल का नेतृत्व रंजीत सिंह निता कर रहा था, जो KZF का प्रमुख है। इस मॉड्यूल का संचालन ग्रीस में बसे जसविंदर सिंह मन्नू द्वारा किया जा रहा था, जबकि इसका नियंत्रण ब्रिटेन में स्थित जगजीत सिंह के पास था, जो ब्रिटिश आर्मी में सेवा दे रहे हैं। जगजीत सिंह ने फतेह सिंह बग्गी की पहचान का उपयोग किया था।

DGP यादव ने उत्तर प्रदेश पुलिस का धन्यवाद करते हुए कहा कि इस ऑपरेशन में उत्तर प्रदेश और पंजाब पुलिस के बीच उत्कृष्ट अंतर-राज्यीय सहयोग देखने को मिला। उन्होंने बताया कि जांच जारी है और इस आतंकवादी मॉड्यूल से जुड़ी और गिरफ्तारियां और रिकवरी की संभावना है।

यह मुठभेड़ पंजाब में हाल ही में हुए ग्रेनेड हमलों की एक कड़ी में आई है, जिनमें से एक धमाका अमृतसर के इस्लामाबाद पुलिस स्टेशन में हुआ था, जबकि एक अन्य हमला नवांशहर में एक पुलिस पोस्ट पर हुआ था, हालांकि इन दोनों घटनाओं में कोई हताहत नहीं हुआ था।
